It’s been a busy, busy week around here. Switchy released on Monday, Dual Porpoise went on pre-sale, and Power of Three hit Kindle.
Note: It takes 4-6 weeks for books to be released to third-party sites. I have no control over that. If you have a Kindle, you can order directly from Siren-BookStrand and have the file sent right to your device/app. If you have another kind of device, or read on a tablet, you can buy other format files from Siren-BookStrand and either download them or transfer them to your device. Nook | Kobo | iPad | BookStrand App via iTunes or Google Play for Android (Includes FREE books!) Follow the above links depending on what device you have and they’ll walk you through transferring the files to your e-book reader/tablet.
I have an iPad, and I usually get the .epub version, download it to my laptop, e-mail it to myself, and open it in iBooks on my iPad. It’s super-easy that way. Or you can probably download it directly to your tablet and open it that way. Or use the BookStrand App. Or use your USB cable to drag the file from your computer to your e-reader like you’d transfer a file to a thumb drive or external hard drive.
You are NOT stuck buying only from the manufacturer’s e-book store.
If you sign up for a BookStrand account, you can go to my author page there and sign up to receive e-mail alerts when I have new books that go on pre-order. (That’s all the mail you’ll get, too, just the alerts, no spam.)
I’m asked on a regular basis if I “care” where someone buys my books. Look, I’m just tickled to death when someone legally obtains my book, whether they buy it through BookStrand or Kindle or another approved vendor, or are legally gifted the book, or get it in print, or borrow the print version from a library–whatever. I do make a few extra cents per e-book on my Siren books if you buy through BookStrand. (That’s pretty standard in our industry.) But if you legally obtain my books from an approved vendor (not one of those damned pirate sites) seriously, I’m GRATEFUL. Thank you. 🙂 This is my livelihood and how I earn a living and pay my bills. I’m not Stephen King rich, believe me. We’re struggling along like anyone else, so every sale means a lot to me. And I consider reviews the icing on the cake. (Which is why I make a point of trying NOT to bug my readers to leave reviews, because I don’t want to be one of THOSE annoying writers.)
Okay, so ON to the freebies (and not-freebies LOL). As always, my Amazon affiliate code is embedded. Doesn’t cost you a dime, and might make me a couple of extra pennies here and there if you buy anything.
