I hate wait-and-see mode.

Hurricane Irma is damaging my calm in a serious way. The latest model runs seem to indicate we’ll be okay over on Florida’s west coast, but as is the nature of these things, we won’t know for sure until closer to the time. We’re prepared, we’ve stocked up and gassed up, and now…we wait.

It’s all we can do. Doesn’t make the waiting any easier.

A Cat 5 storm is nothing to ignore, that’s for sure. After having rode out Hurricane Charley (not on purpose, I guarantee you, it hooked at the last minute and came over us when we’d thought we were “safe”) I know I don’t want to ride out another storm of that strength or stronger. Not that the house can take it.

Sooo…yeah. If you are in the cone of anxiety, make sure to get your preparations ready NOW. There is no harm in being ready and it bypassing you instead of hitting you.

Meanwhile, A Case of You is releasing on Friday (9/8/17) and you can pre-order it. It’s the continuation of Brandon, Jeff, and Stuart’s story, the sequel to Heartache Spoken Here and Roll With the Punches. Also, Tracey’s story (Brandon’s ex-wife) is coming in November, Blues Beach.

A Case of You (Suncoast Society 58, MMM, BDSM) by Tymber Dalton.

Description

Life is starting to settle down for Brandon, Jeff, and Stuart. Raising a teenaged daughter frequently tests the limits of Brandon’s patience, until he meets some of Stuart’s family. Now he understands why Stuart craves the stability of their unusual poly pack.

Stuart doesn’t want to miss his sister’s wedding but he’s terrified of his oldest brother. It’s hard not to worry about their safety. Add becoming a parent to Emma, and Jeff’s health issues, and Stuart’s stress is through the roof.

Jeff knows his guys love him. Yet when a chance to return to work comes along, he’s desperate to take it so he doesn’t feel like a mooch. Only one problem—Emma and Grace will rat him out if his health tanks again. Can he juggle a job and a severe, chronic health condition? Worse, when danger rears its head, can he protect his family?

Add Grace and her barbecue fork of doom, and life proves even more…interesting.

Like you, I’m all stocked up and prepared. Did my last errand this afternoon when I took the new kitten in for her rabies shot and to be microchipped. I usually wait until they are ready to be spayed to have them chipped but I’m not willing to take a chance on it this time around.

The waiting is starting to seriously take its toll. At least there will be a new book on my ereader this weekend to entertain me. I have family spread all across the state. From Miami, to Jacksonville, with Orlando and Tampa in between. Someone is bound to have the worst Sunday/Monday of their lives. Here’s to hoping we all come through this with nothing worse than a huge supply of bottled water to recycle.

I was doing okay until the 5 pm advisory and now central Florida is now in Irma’s direct line of sight. Starting to have major panic attack. Right now I wish I could afford to leave for a few days.

I live less than 30 miles (and on the dirty side) of Harvey’s landfall two weeks ago. I know the “wait and see” all too well. We did evacuate to Austin for 10 days although I came back to check on things on Wed after the landfall on Sat. No damage to our house our buildings but lots of vegetation destruction. One tree fell across the pool and in the process, the root ball ripped out our water service. We were without power from late Friday night of landfall until Labor Day. But the minute I got news that the power was on, we loaded up and came home. Only took a day to get the plumber out to repair our water service. Not sure how long the clean up will take. Ten trees down is a lot. But we are safe and thankful to have only suffered landscape/tree damage. While I’m glad Irma is not headed for Texas, I’m not wishing it on anyone anywhere! Hurricanes are nasty business.
