It’s that time of year again, when Floridians check their supply of bottled water, canned tuna, and Pop-Tarts.

“How can you live in Florida where there are hurricanes?”

Because we don’t get them every year (and likely won’t get this one, either), and when we do get them, we usually have over a week’s notice, unlike in the Midwest, where a tornado can literally drop out of the sky on top of you.

Yeah, I’ll take Florida, thanks. 🙂 We had worse weather with the days and days of solid rain we had a couple of weeks ago than we’ve had with tropical systems in nearly ten years. Which was like a 500-year flood event, emergency management officials have said.

Of course, it figures we get a declared TD THE VERY DAY Hubby leaves to visit family in Snowhio. LOL

(Gee, Verizon FiOS, it’d SURE BE NICE to have the WEATHER CHANNEL BACK right about NOW. Asshats.)

Woman, where is my daddy, you bitch?
Woman, where is my daddy, you bitch?

So not only do I have to deal with Luna giving me the kitty stare of death because I came back from the asscrack of dawn airport run without her daddy, I need to keep an eye on the weather, just in case. (Again, I’m not worried about it, just aware.)

Actually, I’m more worried about Luna killing me in my sleep until she starts sucking up to me somewhere around day three than I am the possible storm. LOL

No, seriously, woman. Where is my daddy?
No, seriously, woman. Where is my daddy?

And since Gidget failed to properly minionize Luna and the Cockroaches (there’s a punk-rock band name for you), claiming she was given defective minions to start with, my life might or might not be in jeopardy.

At least I have Grimmy to protect me…

Oh, dammit. I’m screwed.

In case you missed it…

I would suggest throwing handfuls of catnip at Luna and then running for your life.

It does look like you might just be in trouble. And honestly lived in Florida my whole life and only 2004 was I ready to pack up and head for higher ground. And even then we had a couple of weeks between each storm to stock back up.

@Katy Beth – 2004 was HORRIBLE. Never saw anything like that before in my life. We all got hurricane fatigue and finally just left our windows boarded after Gene, I think it was. Because it was like take them down…put them up…take them down…put them up… I finally told Hubby screw it, they’re staying up until I know we’re out of the season. I did take one of the front ones off the living room so we could get daylight, but the others stayed up. LOL

Tymber I hope you and your family are safe this hurricane season. Living in Southern Australia we don’t get cyclones here, equal to your hurricanes.
