Okay, here’s the thing. If you don’t like/get Rocky Horror Picture Show, or MST3K, then you won’t get why the Sharknado franchise is so popular in the Twitter age. You just won’t.

We KNOW it’s bad. That’s the point. It’s not a “viewing” experience. It’s a viewer-participation experience. The thing is, the first one was accidental. They went for steroid-level parody in the second one.

It’s one of those cases that it went beyond the “so bad it’s good” status into “we OWNED Twitter” status.

And, frankly, there’s some SyFy network junior exec somewhere, who’s sitting back and buffing his fingernails, because he totally go to say, “See, told ya so,” when they owned Twitter.

Again.

(I strongly hope Twitter gets a “fail shark” instead of the “fail whale” screen ready for Sharknado 3: Vegas Bites. At least, that’s what I’m hoping for the subtitle to the third installment. LOL)

Sharknado 2: They owned Twitter…again.
