Yes, I had to DVR The Blacklist Monday night because of DnD. But I just watched it.
Shall we?…
Red warned Elizabeth a while back that her hubby, Tom, wasn’t who she thought he was. I have to admit, after Tom got gutted, and then just about waterboarded at the Post Office, I was beginning to think maybe, just maybe Red had framed him.
Uh, nope. Last week, ole Tommy boy proved what a cold-hearted bastard he is by killing off Jolene. (Not that I was complaining. Bitch needed to die.)
I knew I would love this show from the first adrenaline-inducing minutes of episode one, and it’s only gotten more intense with every episode. I’m still not sure if Red is Elizabeth’s real father or not. What about the picture Red took from the memorial books of episode 4, “The Stewmaker?” Who was that? Was that one of Red’s children? Who set the fire Elizabeth remembers from her childhood?
I wanted to cry when Elizabeth curled up in Red’s lap tonight. Then again, I wanted to cry the other night while he was sitting in the empty auditorium and watching the ballet company perform while he was imagining his little girl on stage. Then there was the episode where he bought the house, pulled off the piece of paneling to find the growth chart, and promptly blew the house up.
I LOVE (love love LOVE!) tortured anti-heroes. LOVE them. (Hence Ryan in my Good Will Ghost Hunting series.) And I love James Spader.
James Spader as a tortured hero = TOTAL WIN for me.
My theory is she is Red’s daughter, and someone went after Red’s family and killed his wife and other daughter, and Red saved Elizabeth and placed her with her adoptive father while faking her death. I think Tom’s target is Red, or related to Red somehow. Maybe he’s even working for Fitch (Alan Alda) who we’re still not sure who he is, except we know he’s powerful and in the government and has a secret deal with Red. Also, am I the only one who thought it was awfully suspicious that Audrey (Ressler’s ex) suddenly wanted back in the picture so badly, or am I just paranoid? (Of course, she’s dead now, so the point’s moot.)
What are your theories? Who is Tom really working for? Is his target Red? The Post Office? Sound off in the comments.
I need to catch up. I havnt watched it since my DH passed we both LoVed the show. I think she is Reds daughter. I have thought it from the beginning.

I wanted to cry also, both of those times actually. Instill can get over that Tom Punched in the face to get away from her.
@Sarah – It doesn’t surprise me he did that. I really want to see him lose body parts before he bites the big one.
Keep in mind that when Tom called in to his handlers, he said, “Tell Berlin…” So I think that there is another player that we don’t know about that is pulling the strings through Tom.
My favorite least seen character in this series thus far is Mr. Kaplan. Who is played by Susan Blommaert. I feel that she is going to have a key role sometime soon as the character itself can find anything, as we found out last night.
Overall, I started watching the show because of James Spader. I have been a Spader fan since Stargate and haven’t been disappointed with any of his work yet.
@Obie – I couldn’t hear what Tom said at first, so I missed that. And yes, I love Mr. Kaplan. I think she’s a hoot and wish she had more screen time.
hubby is there to catch red. It is my considered opinion…lol that red is her dad and heaven help hubby when red get his hands on him. I mean for goodness sake he was pushing her to adopt a child…what the!!! and when his mission was over what was going to happen to the child??? James Spader is the bomb such a great character actor … ((Hugs))from me Debbie T
