I’m desperately trying not to turn Grumpy Cat into my spirit animal. I really am.
Tropical cyclones in the Pacific. Another brouhaha on social media pitting an A-list author against a smaller author who had a good point but then put their foot into it in the process of trying to make same-said point. The Boston Bomber trial. GamerGate. KeepYAKind. Etc. Etc.
Etc.
Gah.
It’s hard to keep a positive attitude when bombarded by such. And people wonder why I prefer Discovery Channel, History Channel, and the Weather Channel, the last of which those assholes at Verizon Fios removed from my FUCKING CABLE LINEUP.
Asshats.
*deep breath*
Positivity and gratitude is frequently difficult to maintain in the face of such a bombardment of negativity.
So, I’m grateful for Hubby, who does so much for me, and without whom I couldn’t do this. Ditto for all you, my reader peeps. And a lot of other people and things I’m grateful for.
What are you grateful for today, peeps? Or what tickles your funny bone? Let’s see if we can’t carve out a pocket of positivity, at least for a little while. Sound off in the comments.

I’m grateful for an ‘off’ button. People should use it more whether they should turn off the tv, computer or phone – they should just turn them off more often and turn onto what is around them. I’m grateful for turning things off and having a hot cup of tea whilst staring out the window. … I could of course go outside and weed the garden instead of staring at them but that’s another story…
I am grateful for my friends. They keep me smiling & laughing. I am grateful for my 12 step meetings which make it easier for me to live in our negative world. I am grateful for you, Tymber, for writing such wonderful books, which give me a welcome respite from the world. I am sending you positive vibes & hugs!
First off, I have to say ((BIGHUGS))
I’ve seen most of the drama you mentioned and…ya. UGH.
But this post is all about being positive, so let’s stick with that. The weather’s warming up, both my girls are doing well in school, and there’s a lot of events coming up which means I get to see some of my favorite people! 🙂
The Habs are topping the league in points, I just got a beautiful new cover, and The Walking Dead has been AMAZING!
Besides that, well…Age of Ultron?
It’s hard to find positive stuff when you get hit by one thing after another, but dodge it for a bit and you’ll see something to make you smile. xoxo
Spring is four days away and already the days are getting longer. The snow is retreating and I know I’ll see a brave daffodil trying to push its way out of the cold ground. I’m grateful for the changing seasons.
I’m incredibly grateful for your books as they have gotten me through some dark, rough times with a lot of laughs and not a few moans.
Hugs & positive thoughts!!
I’m grateful I live in one of the best countries on earth even with our problems. We fo alot for others. I’m glad when I see good news stories such as the stray dog barking until all the newborn pups were foundand taken helped.
I remove myself from the negativity because it can breed very quickly.
I am grateful I came across your books. I haven’t read them all and probably won’t, but I have reread several just because of the good feelings they evoke with the sense of community when there is trouble.
Keep up the good work. Rest and get through the flare; that does have an impact on our perceptions.
Today, I’m grateful that I have a wonderful, loving husband. I also have a sister who is becoming a dear friend after we were estranged for a few years. I’m so thankful to have found so many wonderful friends here on Facebook…naughty ones, sweet ones, and well…those who have given their pets a personality and like to speak as them from time to time 🙂
After 44 years, life is actually GOOD.
Today I am grateful for the wonderful people I have “met” on FB as well as my real life family and friends. My son, who is a licensed mechanic; is fixing my pos car, my other son is doing a wipe and reload on my laptop. I am grateful to just be.
I am thankful for Dennis, who loves me no matter my mood…who has stood by me for 30 years and will for another 30 (hopefully!). For my 3 children.. who make me so proud to be their mom… and for my aunt.. who, aside from my sister, is pretty much the only one who still considers me family after my “parents” decided they hated me and mine
When one pauses to think of all the things one is grateful for the list is always quite long…. I am thankful that this week my dear hubby and I celebrate 40 years together – together we have raised our 6 wonderful children and now some of them have given us the precious gift of grandchildren. I get to do my creative hobbies as I wish, I get to read lots – after having been legally blind for about five years the gift of my sight being returned to me that being able to read is an awesome gift (and I have some 42 of your books Tymber, so I sure do appreciate the hours of relaxation and escapism your hard work has provided me with!) and I am grateful we have been able to travel lots and being able to actually see all that we have has been a gift beyond measure. I love photography and that has all been returned to me as well. I am grateful that soon we will be blessed with another trip to the USA, we will see more of your beautiful country and take 1000’s of more photos LOL! More memories that this ‘spoonie’ appreciates so very much! Hope you all have a great St Pat’s and week. Life sure is good ….. the alternative is to be pushed back as long as possible! 🙂
I am so grateful for my wonderful hubby, who is an amazing husband and father. He enriches my life everyday and I would be so lost without him. I am also grateful for my son Owen, he helps me everyday to see life from a different perspective and I have learned so much from him in his short time.
I am grateful for a hubby who now realizes (after some gentle persuasion involving threatening to not cook for the rest of our marriage lol) an eye roll is not an appropriate response to a stressed out wife melt down and that he accepts that I need to often lose myself in the fabulousness of my ereader library with all the wonderful authors who help escape said stressed out melt down. All authors who create a WELL written haven for my mind to be able to breath and escape are gifts to the world.
I am ever so thankful it appears that winter is on the way out. I am also incredibly ecstatic that my upcoming mother-in-law visit will only be for 2 days.
And I am over the moon that the count down to the new Avengers is getting shorter everyday!!!! Happy happy joy joy!
I am grateful for on-line friends who remind me to be positive and thankful. (Not easy when awoken by screaming children – in a retirement village *sigh*) I am grateful that today is Tuesday so my daughter will be visiting. She is over 30 and has no kids. I am grateful that I could get out of bed this morning to read my email. I am grateful that I know where the off button is so I do not have to subject myself to the negativity of the world. (I rarely watch TV – at all.) I am grateful that today my cat seems to be in a better mood than I am. Hopefully, it will rub off. Thank you for allowing me this moment. I think I needed it.
I’m positive you write wonderfully, and positively grateful you write. Thank you for being in this world and that I found out about your work.
I do a ‘today’s three thankful things’ almost every day. Some days the list could be quite lengthy and sometimes it’s a struggle to find three (at least there’s always chocolate).
Yesterday’s was “beautiful weather and a meeting in another building that ‘required’ me to go out into it; remembering my sunblock so I could bask in that sunlight; and monthly date with my good friend.
Today’s so far include chocolate peppermint cookies, progress on my knitting, and unexpected phone call from a friend.
