I didn’t think anyone else understood about the nausea that can proceed or accompany pain. Between nerve damage and needing knee replacement and just plain arthritis I spend many days vomiting or thinking about it.
My question is what are you doing with the oils? I live on various drugs and either wine or shots of Irish to bet to sleep. Sleep is fitful at best. Another reason I devour books. Thank God for Otter box as both my phone and tablet fall to the floor as I doze.
I can’t wait 4 more days for your latest.
Kathleen
Hi Kathleen, yes, chronic pain-induced nausea is DEFINITELY a thing. So let me preface my comments that I’m not a doctor/medical professional. Also, because I am listed as a Young Living Oils rep, I’m not allowed to make certain “statements” that the FDA would have hissy fits over. LOL
THAT being said, I use Young Living brand oils because they are food-grade (and FDA approved for ingestion). Use whatever brand you want, but make SURE it’s safe for ingestion.
For “tummy support” I use an empty capsule (you can usually find them in health food stores or even some grocery stores and drug stores) I put anywhere from 3 to 5 drops each of peppermint oil and ginger oil. (I use YL’s Vitality line for that because they’re the FDA food-grade ones.) That nearly always quiets things down. You can try using just the ginger oil. (You know how they say drink real ginger ale when your tummy’s upset? Ginger has properties that helps with that, as does peppermint.)
That said, I’ll provide a link to YLO’s site with my number in it. I do NOT push it for others to sell it–I became a rep because I USE so much of it (my PCP doc who oversees my fibromyalgia has signed off on me using them) that it’s more cost-effective for me to be a rep. If you use a LOT of oils like I do, it’s cheaper to be a distributor and get the lower price. I use more than the oils, they have a lot of products I use a lot of, like their Thieves cleaner and the handsoap.

Other products of theirs that help support me with aches and pains are their Deep Relief roll-on blend, and their Panaway blend. Those are topical applications. There’s also an internal mix I use with their Vitality oils that’s copaiba, frankincense, Idaho Balsam Fir (the last of which isn’t in the Vitality line but as an ingredient is listed by the FDA as generally regarded as safe to ingest), and I mix in a couple others. Research those and Google “morphine bomb” online and you’ll see more information about it. (Can be applied topically, too.)
They have a Stress Away oil blend that’s also a roll-on that you can use topically and I find it really soothing before bed. I diffuse it in the bedroom and use the roll-on on my arms before bed. (It’s got vanilla, lavender, and other oils in it.) They have a new roll-on called Tranquil that is very soothing as well.
