Yep, it’s that time of year where Murphy’s Law kicks into overdrive. If you haven’t started a project, try to put it off. Mercury (that little fucking planet) is going retrograde from Thursday, Sept. 17, until Friday, Oct. 9th.
What does this mean?
It means life’s about to get bumpy. It’s the Universe’s version of PMS on a cosmic scale.
It can interfere with things like communication (misunderstandings abound), computers (crashes, anyone?), contracts, etc. Mercury retro is a great time to go back and reflect, or if you’re a writer to edit, or to revisit incomplete things and try to finish them. Don’t start new projects if you can avoid it during this time. Try not to start a new job, or sign a lease/sales contract. Put off elective procedures, if possible. Back up your computers before it hits. Try not to buy/sell anything expensive. Expect things to break down/give you hassles. Expect issues with personal relationships during this time and miscommunications.
In other words slow down, try to chillax, and breathe your way through it. If you have stuff you’ve been putting off completing, this is the time to finally do it and try to get it done and off your plate. Or if you need to go back and revisit something that was started in the past, now’s your time.
Above all, try to keep a sense of humor. You know the Universe won’t hesitate to laugh at you. 🙂
My wife sent me this:
Mercury retrograde means a lot of filaments come untwisted. For people who are invested in the status quo it’s a disaster. For people who could use some untwisted filaments for nest-weaving, it’s a windfall.
Drunk Monkeys status, please?
@Geoffrey – Finishing up book 10 so I can submit the last four all at once. Hopefully by the end of this month.
Oh, great, Tymber! I start a new position on Saturday the 19th and NOW you tell me that Mercury is going retrograde?
@KB – Sorry. :/ Hopefully since you were hired before retro started it’ll be okay.
Well carp! I hate reading along in a series buying the books and then all of a sudden they stop….. is there going to be a continuation of the Drunk Monkey series? If not then you have just lost a fan sorry, I won’t do that to myself twice!
@Trisha – I’m working on book 10 right now so I can submit 7-10 all at once to Siren. Hopefully will have them submitted by the end of this month. 🙂
Awesome I can’t wait!!
Thank you. Please announce when they’ve been submitted so I can go back to buying from Bookstrand. I’fe fallen behind on several series.
