So what are you reading now, peeps? I haven’t done one of these posts in a long time, so it’s overdue.
Hit me with your ugly-cry recommendations. What book/s have made you snot-sob lately? Any genre or romantic pairing (if applicable). And yes, you can list more than one!
Post down below in the comments, and I’ll pick a random winner on Wednesday from everyone who comments to win any e-book from my backlist as Tymber or Lesli. (If it moderates your comment, don’t worry, I’ll go in and approve them.)
CONGRATS to Kath M!! I’ve sent you an e-mail. Thanks to everyone who participated!! (Feel free to keep adding your ugly-cry recommendations!)
(EDIT: Some people had trouble posting a comment before. I changed templates this morning, so please try again. The old template wasn’t playing well with mobile devices, apparently. Thanks, and sorry about that!)
Now available for pre-order: Determination Trilogy (MMF, political romance, Tymber Dalton writing as Lesli Richardson)
Safe Harbor by you, hands down.
The Air he Breathes and Disgrace by Brittainy Cherry.
The Air He Breathes and Disgraced. Both by Brittainy Cherry.
Without a doubt, The Reluctant Dom. I’ve never been hit so hard by every emotion that exists. Kaden, Seth, and Leah are perfection in that book. I honestly went through at least two boxes of tissues. I was grief stricken, heartbroken, and found a glimmer of hope at the end.
My ugly cry book… have several.
The Shadows by J.R. Ward
Reluctant Dom by you
And one from my childhood Charlotte’s Web.
There are a few on the NEVER AGAIN list, The Reluctant Dom is top of that list, that destroyed me! I wasn’t the better for ages after after reading that beautifully written classic in heart break! Thank you, thank you so much for the ugly red eyes n snotty nose and not forgetting the broken heart every time I read about Kaden/Leah/Seth in any of the Series!
It’s a toss up between The Reluctant Dom and Our Gravity. Both are equally snot-sob worthy. 🙂
I just reread “Acquainted with the night”. It gets me every time.
Red snotty nose, red eyes. The whole nine yards.
Safe Harbor
The Reluctant Dom for sure. And Rock Chick Regret by Kristen Ashley. And I just finished a MM called Of Sunlight and Stardust by Christina Lee & Riley Hart that was amazing too.
The Reluctant Dom is the only book I’ve ever read that took me down emotionally.
The first of your books that I read still hits me hard. I still tear up when I hear the word Kaden, you have ruined that name for me if I ever get a grandbaby from my girls. The Reluctant Dom was the first of over a hundred of your books that I read. When I am miserable and need a cry that is the one I head to ..there are a couple of Harlequin Presents books, simple stories but meaningful storylines to me that can do it too, one about twin babies and another about a bull headed man and another about abuse that can do it too. Depends what I’m in the mood for at the time. Not entering the contest, you probably have a lot of Kadens there already. Lol
The Reluctant Dom every single time! Every time you mention him in any of the other Suncoast books I am blubbering like a baby all over again.
*Kaden
I have read a couple of books that made me tear up, Brokenhearted Beauty by Heather Rainier was one that made me grab a tissue. Hands down Reluctant Dom made me break down and sob. I am talking a box of tissues and snorts. I loved the story so much, but it was heartbreaking.
The Reluctant Dom gutted me !!!!
Reluctant Dom and our gravity for sure!!
Acheron and Styxx by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I read Acheron for the first time in my college library and my bf at the time thought someone had died from how hard I was crying. My heart broke for the main character and I wanted to beat up his twin brother for abandoning him. Then a few years later she released Styxx which was the twin to the first tear jerker. I cried so many tears for Styxx, I actually apologized to a book character because I felt horrible for hating him for so long. I actually bring myself to read Styxx over again because my heart can’t handle the emotional upheaval.
My original ugly cry book is Lisa’s Gift by Mackenzie McCade. This book remains high on my favorites list because it is one of the very few MFF books that I have found. My recent ugly cry favorite is Our Gravity by you.
Acquainted with the Night by Tymber Dalton. The ending oh my gracious finished the book, thought about it later and boohooed again. Night Angel by Brent Weeks bittersweet ending only way it could have ended. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows By JK Rowling. Had to stop blow my nose and quit getting the page wet. House elves who don’t exists in real life that we know of should not die. I cry about characters in books all the time. These were some of the worst.
It will forever be Acquainted with the Night by you. This book is chest wrecking sobs with snot inducing ugly crying and a whole box of kleenex guaranteed each time. There are times I have to take 5 minutes just to catch my breath from crying so damn hard! I know everytime what I am in for and I still can’t stay away from the re-read. The feels are intense!!!!!!! Will forever be my fav!
Close second are the DSMC series. Love this series and each one tears me apart.
Reluctant Dom by you #ObviTotes
Turn of the screwed by you
Acheron, Stixx, Dance with the devil by Sherrilyn Kenyan
Lover Awakened by JR Ward
Of course “The Reluctant Dom” by Tymber Dalton is my #1 favorite tear jerker. However there is a trilogy that written by Pam Godwin that is second in my queue of tear jerkers. It’s called the “Tangles Lies” trilogy. Each is titled One is a Promise, Two is a Lie, Three is a War.
The Reluctant Dom
Our Gravity
Fire On The Farm by Betty Shreffler
Well, like just about everyone else, I think The Reluctant Dom is definitely an ugly cry…and so was Happy Spank-O-Ween.
Outside of Tymber/Suncoast Society books, Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon is one of the few that make me cry. Actually, there’s usually at least one or two scenes in all of the Outlander books that get to me. I spent last Sunday crying over the latest episode in the Outlander tv series, too.
!SPOILER ALERT!
Can I just say…. Murtagh!!!
The Reluctant Dom – by YOU
Transcendence by Shay Savage
Styxx – Sherrilyn Kenyon – that book…. had some seriously difficult themes and bad situations but Styxx’s love for Bethany was something that was so beautiful – ugh makes me cry thinking about it LOL
The other is Seduction of a Highland Lass by Maya Banks. OMG did I ugly cry on this one. I knew it had an HEA – KNEW IT !!! Still cried my eyes out LOL
Styxx was amazing, made me very protective of him. But it wasn’t until my husband died that it makes me cry. His and Urian’s Explanation of living the one person for you? Like SK tapped into my heart and mind.
Is this a trick question! Without a doubt one book that made me super ugly cry and go through too many tissues to count and made me eventually end up with hiccups has got to be The Reluctant Dom! I cried so hard that my heart broke and I haven’t recovered since. Yes. it has a beautiful ending but it’s tugs at every heart string. I even had to double up on my anti depressents lol. I introduced my husband to reading (yes the poor soul does not do reading) and the first book I made him read was The Reluctant Dom and even he tears in his eyes.
I still get all emotional if I read Kadens name in any of the other suncoast books….
Always by Kindle Alexander. And your book, The Reluctant Dom
The only book that can get me to cry hard and throw my kindle is acquainted with the night By Tymber Dalton
This book is a one time read for me (yes it is that good)
The last one for me was His Hart’s Command by A.E. Via. It’s her latest in the Nothing Special series. Between this one and The Bounty Hunters Next Generation, also by Via I was done for a while.
Acquainted with the Night by you is the one book of yours I haven’t re-read, because it made me cry so much. The one I read if I want to cry is “Sarah’s Child” by Linda Howard. It came out in the 1980’s or 1990’s and I have re-read it over and over.
The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton. I made the mistake of reading it while sitting with my husband in the hospital and had tears running down my face.
I see that a lot of people are saying the Reluctant Dom and while that is a tear jerker for me, the one that makes me ugly cry is Acquainted with the Night. I’ve read it multiple times and it still gets me every dang time.
CONGRATS to Kath M.! I’ve sent you an e-mail!!
