I don’t know where the maow-maows got the money to hire a contractor…

Day 6 of Hubby in Snowhio: Apparently the maow-maows have contracted outside assistance. Since they can’t deprive me of caffeine or food, they’re attempting to drive me crazy(ier) with a damn bird beating against the window. It’s a juvenile blue jay or something. It keeps attacking its reflection in the top part of the living room window, which means the cats are going ballistic over it. And it’s the same window in front of which is the birdcage, meaning THEY are going nuts when the cats push through the horizontal blinds to get into the window to see what’s going on in the window.

I tried nailing it with the hose several times. Which didn’t deter it. So I decided to cover the window. Which is now coated with tin foil. Grrr. (I needed something waterproof because it’s supposed to rain.)

On another, related note, I need more tin foil.

Is it Wednesday yet?

Is that a mourning dove? They are the stupidest birds in the world. Some birds are very smart, like crows, scrub jays, African Grey Parrots. But doves are more like food on the wing. The red-tailed hawks like them. A friend had one pair of doves that built a nest in their holiday wreath. On the front door. She knocked the nest out of it before they put eggs in it. The doves rebuilt. In the wreath. If there were a short bus for birds, it would be full of mourning doves.

I remember the day we had a young woodpecker that spent the best part of a couple of days pecking on the chimney that is one of the metal lined pipes. It drove me batty.
