Blessed Beltane, and Happy May Day!
Well, I dragged my ample ass back to the gym for the first time in over a year, since I injured my knee back in January, 2013.
I’ve also been slipping on my online WW stuff, getting my food tracked, etc. So time for me to get back on THAT wagon, although I have been wearing my ActiveLink pretty religiously.
I had decided that my Beltane resolution (I don’t care if it’s a “thing” or not) would be getting back into my gym habit. I want to go at least four days a week. I’m normally very sedentary, considering I’m BICFOK (Butt In Chair, Fingers On Keyboard) a minimum of 8 hours a day, pretty much every day. I have skeet, but that’s not exactly aerobic or cardio activity.
My problem is (among I love pasta too much and hate exercise in general) that with my Fibromyalgia, I have to be careful. Too much cardio will crash my system and put me even farther behind than when I started.
I took it easy today, not wanting to be in too much of the bad kind of pain tomorrow. I’m going to alternate swimming with light cardio (stationary bike) and weight machines, and maybe even try a couple of classes they offer to ensure I get the right protein bars for my post-workout nutrition.
I have to admit, listening to Bollywood dance music while doing it definitely helped. LOL Just makes me want to stand up and dance…which would probably scare the hell out of everyone in the gym, though. This morning, took me nearly twenty minutes to find one of my sneakers (one was in the bedroom, the other in the living room, not sure how that happened but shows how long it’s been since my last gym time). But finally got out the door.
Now, time to go watch my first Bollywood movie, do some editing, and then skeet shooting later with friends. WOOT! Oh, and Siren accepted Monkey Business (Drunk Monkeys 1) so look for that sometime in June! 🙂
AND…tomorrow is release day for Lost Bird (Coffeeshop Coven 2)! Woot!!! It’s Sachi’s story, and I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Congratulations on the acceptance of Monkey business! and I hear you on the balance of exercise with fibro issues! How to get that right on any given day? I have no clue 🙂
I send you all the encouragement in the world to keep at the exercise. It is the only thing that really helps my fibro pain – a ‘mindfuck’ to convince my brain that the muscles really work. Of course knowing and doing are two different things. I need some magic encouragement too or a mental kick in the butt.
Looking forward to Sachi’s story tomorrow.

Hi
I’m also one of those people who pat my exercise equipment and offer words of encouragement, before walking out- leaving said equipment undisturbed!
An exercise idea for BICFOK folks- read about a doc at Mayo clinic who
Set up “tabletop” across bars on his treadmill. Set up walking pace for 1 mile per hour. At that very slow pace, he was able to work hours at a time. Check it out for all the health information .
Might work for fibromyalgia, not my beast- I have others and a newly broken, as yet not fixed, broken knee cap!
Good luck
