This is absurdly…absurd. I picked up two of the Ikea Sindal floor mats for $4.99 each at the Tampa Ikea store.
As you can see from the comparison, Grimmy is standing on the new mat, upon which I’ve laid an EXPENSIVE store-bought cat-scratch mat.
Which is less than HALF the size, and about two-thirds MORE than the Ikea mat.
Not to mention, the Ikea mat has a latex backing on it that keeps it from sliding, whereas the cat-scratch mat will slide on smooth floors (and on carpet).
I’m kicking myself that I only bought two of the darn things while I was there. When I go back, I’m going to buy a BUNCH of them. The cats were all over them when I got them home and put them down.

How many cats do you have Tymber/Leslie? It sounds like you buy in bulk – like we do. We have 19. Yes, I know. I am known widely as the crazy cat lady. 🙂
@Laurie – We have 7. One of them is my grandparents’ cat, who I inherited. He’s about 16 years old. We have Luna and her three “kittens” (who will be a year old at the end of March). We couldn’t bring ourselves to get rid of two of the kittens, so they all stayed. LOL (Had she had a larger litter, we would have adopted them out.) We have Callie, who’s about 8 now, and Grimmy, who’s going on 2. Plus 3 dogs and 2 birds. LOL
