Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday.
Congrats to Cheryl H. on winning the scavenger hunt, and thanks to everyone who played!
Sooo…what’s the year ahead look like for me, work-wise?
Ongoing edits for The Great Turning 2 and 3 (#OCDselfpubedithell) and THEN Bleacke Spirit (Bleacke Shifters 4).
More Suncoast Society books. (That’s a given.)
Working on Triple Trouble 11 (been chipping away at that).
Working on Good Will Ghost Hunting books 3-6 (been chipping away at those). And the Brimstone Vampire books 3-6 (chipping away at).
Space Confederation 2 (ditto). And DSMC (ditto).
Hopefully more in the Love Slave for Two series.
And…a trilogy I’m working on that’s going to be way different than stuff I’ve worked on lately. (#carterthebastardextraordinaire)
Going to be at Shameless Book Con in October in Orlando, so that’s going to be a LOT of fun. 🙂
I always have, literally, dozens of WIPS in progress at any given time, in various stages of completion, from sample chapters that I have to “write out” (cough CARTER THE BASTARD EXTRAORDINAIRE cough) to get them out of my head so I can fucking focus on something else (like whatever I’m supposed to turn in to Siren so I can, ya know, get paid) all the way to whatever final edits I’m working on for a Siren release. And everything in between.
And it’s not always a matter of putting in X word count on a particular project. Depending on my pain levels (especially in winter) or energy or whatever, sometimes working on a particular project won’t happen right then. (Our Gravity is one of those. Took a lot out of me. Ditto LSFT 5&6.)
I might NEED to work on a particular book that’s less intense just to relax my brain for a while. Or I might need to work on a more serious book. I very rarely start writing a book and work on it exclusively, start to finish. The “voices” are very fickle sometimes.
And, sometimes, that’s what I need to do for my mental and emotional health, much less for how good a book is going to be. I might hit a wall with one book, switch to another and do 10k on it or more in a day, because my brain is trying to say, hey, you, switch gears before you burn out.
I envy writers who can say with certainty what they’re going to write and release, because I cannot do that. Not how my brain works. Just like I very rarely write a book from start to finish. I usually start it, bounce around, write the ending, work backward, hit the middle and work forward, etc. Whatever scenes are strongest in my mind are what I write first.
I average 60+ hour work weeks. Usually closer to 80 hours. It’s difficult for me to take “time off.” Even when I’m not “writing” I’m usually writing in my brain, or working on plot snags, especially when driving.
So that’s my guesstimate of what’s happening. And that could change depending on what characters pop up at any given time and start yelling at me, because that’s just what happens.

I’ve submitted Steady Rain (Suncoast Society 67) and Indifference of Heaven (Suncoast Society 68) to Siren, hopefully look for those in February and March.
Friends in Common (Suncoast Society 64, MMF, MF, BDSM) is available for pre-order and releases Monday, January 8, 2018. It’s another Cali, Max, and Sean story (with a little bit of Rusty and Eliza, too). Snark! Fun! T-Rex strapons!
Heh.
It’s a fun ride.
(Double heh.)

Note: It takes 4-6 weeks for books to be released to third-party sites by my publisher after their initial release on the Siren-BookStrand site. I have no control over that. If you have a Kindle, you can order directly from Siren-BookStrand and have the file sent right to your device/app. If you have another kind of device, or read on a tablet, you can buy other format files from Siren-BookStrand and either download them or transfer them to your device. Playing a friendly game of “Who’s on Top” is just another day in Max, Sean, and Cali’s life. And when it comes to their friends, the triad are usually the first ones there, pitching in and stepping up to help.
Unfortunately, there are some things they can’t fix for their friends. The trick is to recognize that boundary while not forgetting how to have fun or neglecting their own happiness.
But sometimes, even Cali can make a T-Rex look tame.
Description
At thirty-one, Bryce is a damned good attorney, but it feels like that’s all he’s got going for him right now. He’s just about given up on finding a boyfriend, much less a submissive, and his dreams of being a father look increasingly slim. Then mutual friends in the Suncoast Society take over.
Dustin is relatively new to the area. The realtor thinks his friends are wasting their time fixing him up, especially since Bryce is fifteen years younger than him. No younger guy has ever wanted him before. Except this feels like forever in a scary-fast way. Bryce is not only okay with Dustin not wanting kids, he’s also the Dom of Dustin’s dreams.
Enter Kira, Bryce’s lifelong best friend. She’s about to make Bryce’s dreams come true with a devastating price. Dustin knows he owns Bryce’s heart, but can he accept the guy he loves marrying a woman whose last wish is that Bryce be by her side?
